The Cecil & Iris Chaudhry Foundation’s (CICF) Skill Development Center was launched in Peshawaras a part of the foundation’s “Women Empowerment Program” - an initiative to empower the women victims, those who were not only widowed but also orphaned by the dreadful suicide bomb attacks carried out against the All Saints Church Kohati Gate Peshawar in September 2013.
Having no earning male family member, they were in dire need of help. It was pivotal to help strengthen their day to day financial sustainability.
The Cecil & Iris Chaudhry Foundation’s (CICF) Skill Development Center provided these unfortunate women with a comprehensive course in garment making.
On the completion of each course participants are presented with a sewing machine along with all the relevant accessories, in order to give her a head start in her work.
The CICFSkill Development Center was sucessful in empowering 80 women in a period of one year.
